  What does 2014 mean to you

  sometime in the early 1990s i made a commitment to myself that if the end did not come in 2014 i was going to walk away.

  then i started thinking - if i waited until 2014 i would be 57 years old with very few options.

  that is when i realized that i needed to make changes to get my life back.

  Dude i thought i'de seen everything until i brought a jayhole from the phillipines 7 years ago. I got 2 kids to show for it so in that respect it's the best thing i ever did. But i'm at the end of divorce and for me 2014 means no more ambient abuse (and i'm totally in control of the narcissistic supply that i give to the narcissist) . It' means going after some of the things that i want. For me it means i'm going to continue to throw my heart in to my kids to help them see, do, say, experience anything they want in this world. For as long as i can and the best that i can. I'm going to sit down sometime today and assess all of the things that i did this year. And write down 100 goals for the year.

  hey i'm new here, i've been reading up so much here and on other sites about tatt and it has really settled a nagging feeling of doubt within me.

  truly i have been lied to and have been trapped in this cult.

  i've been suffering with depression, anxiety, attempted suicide, hospitalization, anti depressants, loneliness all this while being in supposedly surrounded by "the happiest people" on earth.

  this was just said to me by a friend who was disfellowshipped just over 2 years ago.

  she just had a miscarriage, and her partner dumped her rather than supported her through this process.

  she told her jw parents, and they refuse to even call her or offer her any emotional support.

  Obliette, words can't express how deeply i feel your pain. I tell my kids every time i see them. I'm your life line to a real authentic life. I'm your life line to freedom and being a kid. i'm your life line to anything you want to do in this world. As Steve Jobs liked to say. Once you find out that all the people making up the rules are not as smart as you....that is when you start to create and give back to the world.

  quite simply, most jw's are scared as heck of ever reading information critical of the watchtower society.

  deep down they genuinly fear their 'faith' wouldn't stand it.. ignorance and resisting contrary information is the final defense for jw's.

  it is the fall-back position they mentally run to at the slightest bit of criticism.

  Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. (18 months ago) I overheard my (soon to be X) telling an elder that she would divorce me after i helped her move to texas. Didn't quite work out as she planned.
